THE SOLAR PLANT PROJECT
Pure Energy for Zambia
Zubalight Energy develops utility-scale renewable energy projects to solve Zambia’s critical power deficit and drive economic growth.
THE CHALLENGE
Powering a Nation’s Growth
The Opportunity
Zambia faces a severe 1,360 MW power deficit due to its reliance on drought-affected hydropower. This has led the government to declare a national disaster and actively seek private investment through tax incentives and pro-investor policies. We are turning this national challenge into a secure, government-backed opportunity.
Our Solution
Our flagship project is a de-risked, 20 MW shovel-ready solar plant in a strategic, grid-connected location. It is the first step in our scalable vision to add significant capacity to the national grid.
- 50-hectare land asset secured
- Grid connection de-risked
- Internationally-funded substation nearby
- Scalable site for future growth
- Clear path to permitting
Our Expertise
Our team possesses over 100 years of combined, high-level local experience. This “brain trust” includes former directors of the national utility ZESCO, senior project managers from the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), and engineering leaders with decades of hands-on experience building power infrastructure across Africa.
A De-Risked Investment
THE KABWE SOLAR PLANT
Reducing Risk, Accelerating Returns
Our flagship 20 MW solar project in Kabwe is a shovel-ready opportunity. We have already achieved critical milestones that significantly reduce investment risk:
- Secured Land Asset: A 50-hectare plot is secured via a signed Letter of Intent .
- Proven Grid Proximity: The site is located just a 3-minute drive from a new, internationally-funded ZESCO substation currently under construction.
- Scalable Vision: The site allows for a clear, de-risked path for future expansion beyond the initial 20 MW.
