A versatile engineering professional with a multi-decade career managing large-scale industrial projects for multinational corporations across Southern Africa and the UK. Tresford has a proven track record of heading complex, multi-million dollar projects from conception through to commissioning. As Engineering Manager at Zambia Sugar Plc, he was instrumental in two major expansion projects, which included doubling the plant’s cane crushing capacity to 17,000 tonnes per day, installing a new 30 MW steam turbo-alternator, and managing an $80 million sugar refinery plant installation. His experience also includes senior roles as Chief Engineer for Lever Brothers (Unilever) and Engineering Manager for Coca-Cola. Most recently, as a Project Manager for the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), he oversaw the technical and financial aspects of the Agro Luswishi farm block, giving him invaluable insight into executing national-level projects in Zambia.

A highly respected Electrical Engineer and a Fellow of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (FEIZ) with 40 years of experience, including 20 years in executive management at major electricity utilities. As the Director of Distribution and Supply at ZESCO, he managed a workforce of 2,800 country-wide and spearheaded the national Distribution System Loss Reduction project, successfully reducing losses from over 28% to 12.5%. His international experience includes serving as the Executive Director of Technical Services for the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) in Nigeria, where he was in charge of a distribution network serving 800,000 customers. He has also served as a Grid Specialist consultant for CIGZambia, a program funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

A seasoned project management professional with nearly four decades of hands-on experience in the construction of high-voltage electrical infrastructure across Southern Africa, including projects in Zambia, Tanzania, and the DRC. Nic has managed the electrical construction for some of Zambia’s largest mining operations, including the complete MV/LV reticulation for Barrick Lumwana mine and the main 33kV networks for Kansanshi mine . His expertise covers the entire project lifecycle, from tender submission and contract negotiation to managing large local and expatriate labor teams on greenfield substation and power line construction projects. As the direct liaison with our EPC contractors, Nic ensures that projects are executed to the highest international standards.

A business development specialist with over 35 years of experience in project development, stakeholder management, and navigating regulatory and financial environments in Zambia. Beriwick’s early career included roles as a Credit Officer at Zambia National Commercial Bank and a Projects Officer at Lima Bank, giving him a strong foundation in agricultural finance and project lending. He is responsible for securing all statutory permits, negotiating contracts, and managing all land rights and environmental impact assessments. His extensive experience managing donor-funded agro-projects (USAID) and his deep involvement with farmers’ unions give him a unique ability to ensure compliance and smooth project progression.

Bupe leads the commercial interface of Zubalight, bridging the gap between local engineering and international project finance. His mandate is to translate technical assets, such as land rights and grid impact assessments, into bankable investment structures that meet DFI standards. Leveraging a background in advanced data analytics and digital systems, Bupe implements tech-enabled governance structures that streamline project reporting and financial controls. With over 15 years of experience in commercial advisory, he manages the Joint Development Agreements (JDAs) and the critical path to Financial Close, ensuring that Zubalight operates with the agility of a tech firm and the discipline of an infrastructure utility.
